Did you study English or journalism in school?
Yes, writing has always been a big part of my life. While growing up, I always did well in English and writing because I enjoyed both. In college, I majored in print journalism and was editor of The Collegian, the campus newspaper, during my senior year. I took several memorable classes in expository writing, creative writing, script writing, and novel writing.
After a couple of newspaper stints, one during the Gulf War (spring 1991) at the Greenville Piedmont, I realized a secular newspaper vocation wasn’t for me. I became burdened for ministry publication work, God opened doors, and I spent the next fourteen years serving two ministries as an editor and writer. To this day, I work from home as a freelance writer and editor. Most of my life has been about words in some form or another. I don’t see that changing.
