Fatal Illusions is officially finished

It’s official. I proofread the page proofs (the book in layout) of my novel over the least couple of weeks and submitted the final corrections last Friday. Today I can say (with a great sense of liberation) that the project is finally finished, and the book is done. The only thing I have yet to see is the back cover; I should see that in a couple of weeks. Praise the Lord! What a journey! So what’s next? Promotion, promotion, promotion—as much as my schedule allows. More on that soon. And the next novel, of course.

Page proofs arrive via e-mail

Today, my editor at Kregel e-mailed me the page proofs of my novel. What are page proofs? They allow me to  see my novel in layout for the first time. With fonts and graphics, the project finally looks like a book, and it looks amazing! After the many stage of revisions and the long wait, this is the payoff. I’m very excited and pleased by Kregel’s hard work. Glory be to God!

December Newsletter and Book Giveaway

December 16, 2008 Dear Reader, Welcome to my December newsletter. Snow has blanketed the ground here, reminding me that Christmas and New Year’s are just around the corner. Because I know everybody, including yours truly, is insanely busy this time of year, I’ll keep this letter brief. Publication of Fatal Illusions is moving forward. Up to nine established novelists are reading the suspense novel now and will turn in endorsements by the end of January. I’m waiting to do one more read, this time only for typos and other glaring errors. After that, the novel goes to press and should be available sometime in March, the Lord willing.
